Collaborating for Impact

Transformation. Trust. Action and solutions. Working together. These elements sit at the heart of the Ontario Centres for Learning, Research and Innovation in Long-Term Care’s (Ontario CLRI) approach to strengthening the quality of life and care for people who live and work in Ontario long-term care (LTC) homes.

Since our inception, our teams at Baycrest, Bruyère Health Research Institute, and the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging (RIA) have recognized the collective, system-wide impact we can have when we work in partnership.

Whether it is helping to address human resource shortages, improving current knowledge on palliative care or enhancing care through person- and family-centered approaches to care, our impact on the LTC sector reflects the collaboration and deep commitment of Ontario CLRI team members and the time and energy invested by all of our partners across the province.

As a provincial resource, we focus on:

  • Quality & Innovation: Fostering an environment where LTC homes are the true leaders in making change.
  • Training & Workforce Development: Supporting team members in implementing evidence-informed best practices in care.
  • Person-Centred Approaches to Care: Empowering residents to live fully and participate in their communities.
