It’s no secret that long-term care (LTC) homes are facing an increase in residents living with mental health challenges. The Ontario CLRI at Baycrest recently conducted a survey with LTC team members to allow us to tailor a set of events to the learning needs of those working in LTC. We found that LTC members want and need more strategies to care for these residents well; survey responded identified the three most requested education topics as depression, personality disorders, and anxiety.
This webinar series will help equip LTC team members in caring for residents with mental health issues outside of dementia. The first in the series, Caring for Residents With Depression, will be presented by Dr. Robert Madan, Psychiatrist-in-Chief, Executive Medical Director for the Centre for Mental Health at Baycrest.
